A RAPD marker specific to leaf shape of fig(Ficus carica)was developed and converted into SCAR marker for germplasm identification.RAPD amplifications with random primers S_ 2082 produced a unique fragment linking to the non-cordate base leaf shape. The unique fragment was extracted, cloned and sequenced.Sequencing results indicated that the size of the fragment was 1 640 bp.Specific primers were designed based on its sequence and used in SCAR-PCR,and it was showed that the RAPD marker from S_ 2082-1640 was successfully converted into SCAR marker.
