Margaret Walker was a modern black female writer and poet, whose writing style is characterized as realism. Her only novel Jubilee was an one-million-copy bestseller. Jubilee kept a record of black people's history before, during and after the American Civil war, so it if great importance in constructing the history of black people. This paper tries to compare Jubilee with Tony Morrison's two novels, to show the realistic writing style of Margaret Walker and its significance in constructing the black history and black images.
