Business English students are more engaged in business communication activities after graduation.Good interculturalcommunication competence is an essential condition for successful communication. Therefore, Business English students shouldnot only possess strong professional knowledge but also they should have qualified intercultural communication competence. Theauthor has investigated the current situation of intercultural communication competence of business English students and analyzedreasons, then put forward some feasible suggestions based on the findings. It is hoped that this survey will be helpful to similar research in the future.
The vocabulary learning strategies are very common in English learning. Basing on O'Malley & Chamot's classification framework of vocabulary learning strategies, the present study conducts research by the questionnaires and interviews of junior Business English Majors to know the current real situation of business English vocabulary learning strategies used by business English Majors. After analyzing and discussing the problems which are reflected in the questionnaire and interview, the researcher puts forward some suggestions on vocabulary learning and teaching in Business English. The researcher hopes it is helpful for Business English Majors to learn Business English vocabulary.
Portfolio assessment is considered as one of the most beneficial assessments in English teaching.However this effective assessment is neglected in college EFL writing.This paper aims to find out whether portfolio assessment can be used in English writing class effectively and describe the implement of this assessment.
