The observation was made to see the clinical effect of cervical spondylosis treated with reduction in dorsal position. According to the standards set by the State TCM Administration about cervical spondylosis, dignoses and curative effects were appraised and symptoms and signs before and after the treatment were analyzed with the integration method. The effective rate of the group with the manipulation and the contrast group with the mechanical traction was 97.2% and 95% respectively. No significant difference was showed between the two groups (P>0.05). The result has proved that the same curative effect can be obtained from both the massage manipulation and mechanical traction to relieve cervical pain, radiated pain, headache and dizziness and improve the flexibility of the cervical movement. But the patient has a better compliance with the massage manipulation.
