Recent developments in pedagogy concerning autonomous learning have instigated a pursuance to investigate methods to ensure that students are able to learn more effectively and gain competence when communicating with others. This presentation describes collaboration between learner autonomy and Hope English. The structure and layout of the textbook in conjunction with the tasks and activities is designed to facilitate autonomous learning. Investigations have affirmed that exposure to an autonomous learning environment generates more interest and motivation in the students then the traditional passive learning methods. They are able to learn more effectively and gain competence when communicating with others.
