Grammar instruction takes an important role in language teaching in EFL context, and contextualized analysis of authentic texts can help learners better understand Larsen-Freeman's (2003) three dimensions—form, meaning and use of related grammatical features. This article will analyze Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address (hereafter GA for short) in terms of tense/aspect, modality and cohesion, and briefly discuss how it could be used in teaching.
Language anxiety is one of the most common elements that influence language learning.Based on a questionnaire investigation,university students'trait anxiety and environmental anxiety in English classes will be analyzed and discussed.The two types of anxiety are positively correlated with each other and negatively correlated with the students'oral English ability.Results of this analysis will help promote the teachers'understanding of the classroom environment and create a favorable teaching circumstance.
