Since 1993, English education in middle schools has experienced a great change, that is, a total alteration of English textbooks. Such alteration has brought about the change of English teachings in schools. This paper has compared the differences between the past textbooks and the present ones, analyzed the strengths and weaknesses the present textbooks have brought to students, and given potential solutions to such weaknesses.
