A novel coordination polymer [{Cd(hmbdc)(H20)3}-2H20],, (hmbdc = 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid) has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal belongs to monoclinic, space group P2Jc, with a = 9.599(3), b = 18.699(5), c = 7.557(2) A, r= 108.198(4)°, V= 1288.6(6) A3, Z= 4, M,.= 382.60, Dc = 1.972 g/cm^, F(000) = 760, p = 1.740, the final R =0.0555 and wR = 0.0995 for 1732 observed reflections with 1 〉 2σ(I). The structural analysis shows that the intermolecular hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions result in a three-dimensional supramolecular framework.
The Cluster compound [Cu3BrWOS3(bipy)2] was synthesized by reaction of (NH4)2WOS3, CuBr, 2,2′ bipyridine and n Bu4NBr at room temperature and characterized by IR, UV and elemental analyses. The structure of [Cu3BrWOS3(bipy)2] wasdetermined by single crystal X ray diffraction revealing that the cluster consist of a nest shaped core. The W atom is tetrahedrally coordinated by three S atoms and one O atom. There are two types of copper atoms in the WOS3Cu3 aggregate: two copper atoms are tetrahedrally coordinated and another copper atom is trigonally coordinated. The nonlinear optical properties were studied with an 8ns pulsed laser at 532nm. Its optical responses to the incident light exhibit considerably optical absorptive and strong self focusing effect with α2=0.90×10-10m·W-1, n2=2.72×10-18m2·W-1. CCDC: 196348.
The title cluster compound [WS4Cu3Br(bipy)2] has been synthesized by the reaction of (NH4)2, CuBr and 2,2′ bipy in DMF solution. Single crystal X ray diffraction data show that the compound has a nest shaped structure. Nonlinear optical properties (NLO) of the cluster were investigated by a Z scan technique with a pulsed laser at 532nm. The cluster exhibits the strong NLO absorption and a self defocusing effect (effective non linear absorption coefficient, α2eff=7.3×10-11mW-1; effective non linear refractive index, n2eff=3.9×10-11esu) when measured in a 6.0×10-4mol·dm-3 DMF solution.
